Story 3 (of 15) – Fir Cones
The events in this story take place in Norway. In a beautiful forest close to the North-Sea, not far from his home-town, Bergen, the famous compositor, Edward Grieg, is walking and collecting inspiration.
One day he meets a young girl, Dagny Pedersen, who is gathering fir cones in a basket she is carrying. The compositor accompanies the small girl to her home while they are talking about many different things.
Before they say goodbye, Grieg wishes he had a toy to give to Dagny. Instead, he promises to prepare a gift for her on the day she reaches the age of 18.
Many years later, on the day Dagny celebrates her 18-year birthday, she is visiting relatives in Bergen.
By pure coincidence, they decide to stop and listen to an open-air concert in a park not far from her relatives’ home.
Even if Dagny, sometimes had thought about the kind old man and his strange promise to make a gift for her that many years in the future, she had by now forgotten all about him.
It was therefore a big and tear-filled surprise, listening to the announcement from the conductor on the stage in front of the orchestra.
Probably you have already guessed it, but to find out what was the announcement, download Story 3 – Fir Cones, now.
